Potenza RF microneedling is suitable for all skin types due to its safe delivery of energy into the deeper skin layers. In contrast, lasers target the upper skin layers, which can increase the risk of pigmentation issues, known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Consequently, when considering potential skin color changes, RF Potenza microneedling is a safer choice compared to laser resurfacing.

This program aims to globally improve acne scars, resulting in varying degrees of improvement. While some scars may be completely corrected, others will show improvement, and a few may still persist. For particularly stubborn scars, we may employ surgical, laser, chemical peeling, or other advanced techniques.

It’s important to note that certain scar types may require treatment beyond the scope of your nurse or therapist, potentially involving a surgical approach, which could incur additional costs to your scar revision program. All patients will be informed of this before undergoing treatments.

While most patients in the Potenza RF program may not require additional treatments, there are instances where your nurse or therapist might recommend complementary minimally invasive options, such as:

•  TCA painting or CROSS
• Collagen-stimulating injectables
• Limited laser treatments, including fractional, vascular, or Picosure Pro laser, may be suggested for specific cases.

The cost of a single session of Potenza RF microneedling is $890, encompassing theater and anesthetic expenses. Opting for a series of three treatments comes at a reduced rate of $2370 ($300 saving)

It’s important to note that while lasers are highly effective for treating acne scars, they do entail a longer recovery period compared to RF microneedling. Our treatments are administered by our team of nurses and dermal clinicians who have received  training in non-invasive acne scar revision. Additionally, our team is well-versed in other aspects of scar revision, including the use of CO2, Hybrid, pico, and vascular lasers, as well as treatments.

Both devices excel in the realm of RF microneedling, delivering approximately 50-60% of the power of the Genius RFM and on par with the older Infini RF devices (with some nuances, as outlined below).

Potenza RFM gains an advantage in terms of comfort levels and the ability to simultaneously deliver topicals into deeper layers of the skin. In contrast, Morpheus8 has an edge in providing multiple-level treatments (although Potenza features the tiger tip) and deeper treatment depths, which are not particularly relevant in the context of acne scar treatments.
