        The Glow Series FAQs

How do we achieve the glow?

Through the integration of two highly advanced approaches for eliminating pigmentation and promoting collagen, we have the ability to reverse the aging process of the skin and enhance its overall health, resulting in a radiant and healthy complexion.

What is the science behind The Glow series?

The Glow combines pico lasers with injectables in a single session to boost collagen production. The laser effectively eliminates pigmentation and stimulates collagen in the deeper skin layers, while biostimulator injectables hydrate the skin and further enhance collagen production.

This synergy between laser and injectables maximizes the effectiveness of each treatment. Moreover, the injectables contribute to expediting the recovery process from laser resurfacing.

        What is the recovery time?

Only 36 hours. This treatment has recovery period globally while achieving maximum collagen stimulation and pigment removal. This stands in contrast to lengthier recovery periods associated with chemical peels (up to 14 days) or fractional laser resurfacing (6 to 9 days).

When will I start to see a difference?

A single session produces a visible decrease in pigmentation, and undergoing a series of 3 sessions will build upon and enhance the outcomes. In practical terms, a single session typically results in a 50-90% reduction in pigment. However, achieving wrinkle removal and reduction in pore size requires multiple sessions.

Is this safe for all skin types?

Yes. The Glow Series is can enhance all skin types, including ethnic and Asian skin. Utilizing state-of-the-art laser systems, we ensure the safe and effective reduction of pigmentation across all skin colors.

        How much does it cost?

The Glow Series is $3990. Unlike other treatment series, the Glow is performed by Dr Davin Lim, Dermatologist.

Single treatment: Picosure Pro + Rejuran $1790

Package 3 sessions: Picosure Pro + Rejuran $3990

How do I know if The Glow Series is right for me?

Schedule a consultation with our clinical team to determine the suitability of this program for your specific condition. Through a thorough clinical examination, we can provide guidance to ensure your skin goals are achieved. The Glow is most suitable for individuals experiencing:

        – Pigmentation
        – Dull skin
        – Age spots
        – Early signs of aging, such as wrinkles and mild skin laxity

What distinguishes us from other providers of laser and injectable treatments?

Our commitment to clinical training and the use of top-tier lasers and injectables guarantees optimal results for you.

The Melasma Clinic is a collaboration between Dr. Davin Lim and Dr. Van Park, bringing together over 25 years of experience in cosmetic dermatology and aesthetic medicine across Australia, Asia, the US, and Europe. We utilize cutting-edge lasers from reputable companies such as Lutronic, Cynosure, Candela, and Lumenis.

        Are treatments painful?

With specialist strength numbing gel, treatments are comfortable.

What is the downtime of this treatment & what should I expect?

Historically, recovering from laser resurfacing required a week, but with the advancements in picosecond technology, the recovery period is now under 36 hours. Here’s the expected progression:

        – Initial 2 hours: Redness and mild swelling
        – Subsequent 34 hours: Marked reduction in redness and swelling
        – At 48 hours: Complete recovery

Makeup can be applied after 24 hours, and exercise can be resumed two hours post-treatment.

What is the difference between The Glow Series & Pico Rejuvenation series?

While the Glow Series addresses both pigmentation reduction and skin rejuvenation, the Melasma Series focuses solely on pigmentation issues. Through the synergistic combination of collagen-stimulating injectables and lasers, we enhance the results, promoting collagen production and simultaneously reducing melasma pigmentation.

What is the science behind Hybrid HA injectables?

In contrast to hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, HA injectables promote collagen production and enhance skin quality through dermal hydration. This results in a more radiant and lively complexion, with decreased skin laxity and wrinkles.

While dermal fillers contribute volume, especially in areas like the lips and cheeks, Hybrid HA biostimulators operate at a cellular level, stimulating collagen production by activating fibroblast cells.

How does The Glow Series compare to Cosmelan peel?

Despite our admiration for the efficacy of the Cosmelan Peel (and Dermamelan) in managing melasma, the downside is the prolonged recovery time associated with chemical peels.

Conversely, the Glow Series not only tackles melasma but also delivers anti-aging benefits by reducing fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, and skin laxity.

The Glow Series  3 sessions  36 hour recovery Best for pigment & anti-aging
Cosmelan Peel  1 session 7-14 day recovery  Best for melasma

How does The Glow Series compare to Fraxel lasers?

Fraxel laser stands out as an excellent choice for skin rejuvenation; nevertheless, there are a few drawbacks to consider:

        1. Extended recovery periods lasting up to 8 days, especially when factoring in multiple sessions.
        2. Increased discomfort due to longer treatment times ranging from 20 to 40 minutes.
        3. Limited effectiveness in rejuvenating darker skin types.

For individuals with lighter skin types and those showing significant photodamage and sun spots, we utilize Fraxel and LaseMD Ultra.

Learn more about the Frax Series.

How long do the results last?

The duration of the results varies depending on your skin’s age and past sun exposure, potentially lasting up to six years. Enhancing the outcomes of this program is possible with a straightforward skincare routine.

For individuals with pronounced sun damage and pigmentation, maintaining the results may only require one session annually.

Does The Glow Series treat skin laxity?

While this series targets fine lines, wrinkles, and mild skin laxity, it does not deliver results comparable to a surgical facelift.

For individuals with moderate skin laxity, additional treatments such as potent collagen-stimulating dermal fillers, along with HIFU ultrasound and RF microneedling, may be necessary.

What skin care pairs best with The Glow Series?

Amplify the glow with the following skin care routine-

AM: Antioxidants such as vitamin C, E, ferulic acid
PM: Vitamins including retinol & niacinamide

Our clinicians will discuss the best products for your skin type. We take into consideration your age, goals, skin sensitivities & current state of your skin.
